If anybody actually reads this lyrics journal .... Aug. 6th, 2007 @ 10:57 am
This is just to let you know that I'm hangin' around at Scribblit now. I was lucky enough to get in to the first group of 100 beta testers. So, I probably won't be around here much, not that I have been posting any lyrics lately anyway!

Going Through The Motions Mar. 16th, 2007 @ 09:07 pm
In celebration of recovering my music, including "Once More With Feeling," the Buffy musical:

Going Through The Motions

Buffy:
Every single night
The same arrangement
I go out and fight the fight
Still I always feel
This strange estrangement
Nothing here is real
Nothing here is right
I’ve been making shows of trading blows
Just hoping no one knows
That I’ve been
Going through the motions
Walking through the part
Nothing seems to penetrate my heart
I was always brave
And kind of righteous
Now I find I’m wavering
Crawl out of your grave
You find this fight just
Doesn’t mean a thing
......
Will I stay this way forever
Sleepwalk through my life’s endeavor
......
I don’t want to be
Going through the motions
Losing all my drive
I can’t even see if this is really me
And I just want to be
Alive

» "Is It Possible?" - Sir Thomas Wyatt
This one came in on my Poem Hunter list yesterday. It's always a kick to get a Wyatt.

Is It Possible?

Is it possible
That so high debate,
So sharp, so sore, and of such rate,
Should end so soon and was begun so late?
Is it possible?

Is it possible
So cruel intent,
So hasty heat and so soon spent,
From love to hate, and thence for to relent?
Is it possible?

Is it possible
That any may find
Within one heart so diverse mind,
To change or turn as weather and wind?
Is it possible?

Is it possible
To spy it in an eye
That turns as oft as chance on die,
The truth whereof can any try?
Is it possible?

It is possible
For to turn so oft,
To bring that lowest which was most aloft,
And to fall highest yet to light soft:
It is possible.

All is possible
Whoso list believe.
Trust therefore first, and after preve,
As men wed ladies by licence and leave.
All is possible.

Sir Thomas Wyatt
» "Driven by Desire," by Sir Thomas Wyatt
Driven by desire I did this deed,
To danger myself without cause why,
To trust the untrue not like to speed,
To speak and promise faithfully.
But now the proof doth verify,
That who so trusteth ere he know,
Doth hurt himself and please his foe.

Sir Thomas Wyatt
